EgyptAir Baggage Policy
Passengers travelling with EgyptAir from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers travelling on EgyptAir flights departing from Kuala Lumpur
International Airport (KLIA) may bring cabin baggage according to their travel
class:
• Economy Class: 1 cabin bag up to 8 kg (17.6 lbs).
• First /
Business Class: 2 cabin bags with a combined weight of up to 8 kg (17.6 lbs).
Each cabin bag must not exceed 56 cm × 40 cm × 23 cm, including handles,
pockets and wheels, and must be suitable for storage in the overhead compartment
or under the seat.
All cabin baggage is subject to security screening at
KLIA. Bags exceeding the permitted weight or size limits must be checked into
the aircraft hold.
Checked Baggage Policy
EgyptAir’s checked baggage allowance for international flights, including
services between Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, is based on the passenger’s fare type
and class of travel:
• Economy Class: 1 piece up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
•
First / Business Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs).
Each checked
baggage piece must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions
(length + width + height).
The maximum weight allowed for any single
checked baggage piece is 32 kg (70 lbs). Baggage exceeding this limit must be
shipped as cargo and cannot be accepted as checked baggage.
Passengers
should verify the exact baggage allowance shown on their ticket or booking
confirmation before departure, as allowances may vary depending on the purchased
fare and itinerary.
Extra Baggage
Passengers may
purchase additional baggage allowance through EgyptAir before departure, subject
to availability and applicable charges.
Excess baggage fees apply when
baggage exceeds the permitted allowance in terms of weight, number of pieces or
dimensions. Purchasing additional baggage in advance may provide more flexible
options compared with payment at the airport.
Sports equipment, oversized
items and special baggage require compliance with EgyptAir’s handling
requirements and may be subject to additional charges or advance arrangements.
