Emirates Baggage Policy

Passengers travelling with Emirates from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) may bring cabin baggage according to their travel class.

• Economy Class: 1 cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs).
• Premium Economy: 1 cabin bag weighing up to 10 kg (22 lbs).
• Business / First Class: 2 cabin bags consisting of 1 carry-on (up to 7 kg) and 1 briefcase or garment bag (up to 7 kg).

The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are 55 cm × 38 cm × 22 cm, including handles, pockets and wheels. Cabin baggage must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front. All cabin baggage is subject to security screening at KLIA, and items exceeding the permitted size or weight must be checked in.

Checked Baggage Policy

Emirates applies either the weight concept or the piece concept depending on the route and fare purchased. Flights between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur operate under the weight concept.

• Economy Class: 20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg or 35 kg, depending on the fare type.
• Premium Economy: 35 kg.
• Business Class: 40 kg.
• First Class: 50 kg.

A single checked bag must not exceed 32 kg in weight or 203 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height). Passengers should refer to the baggage allowance shown on their ticket before travelling.

Extra Baggage

Passengers may purchase additional baggage allowance before departure through Emirates. Prepaid extra baggage is offered at lower rates than excess baggage purchased at the airport.

Charges apply when checked baggage exceeds the permitted weight or allowance. Sports equipment, musical instruments and other special baggage are accepted in accordance with Emirates' baggage regulations, and additional fees may apply depending on the item and route.
