Emirates Baggage Policy
Passengers travelling with Emirates from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) may bring
cabin baggage according to their travel class.
• Economy Class: 1 cabin
bag weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs).
• Premium Economy: 1 cabin bag weighing up
to 10 kg (22 lbs).
• Business / First Class: 2 cabin bags consisting of 1
carry-on (up to 7 kg) and 1 briefcase or garment bag (up to 7 kg).
The
maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are 55 cm × 38 cm × 22 cm, including handles,
pockets and wheels. Cabin baggage must fit in the overhead compartment or under
the seat in front. All cabin baggage is subject to security screening at KLIA,
and items exceeding the permitted size or weight must be checked in.
Checked Baggage Policy
Emirates applies either the
weight concept or the piece concept depending on the route and fare purchased.
Flights between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur operate under the weight concept.
• Economy Class: 20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg or 35 kg, depending on the fare type.
•
Premium Economy: 35 kg.
• Business Class: 40 kg.
• First Class: 50 kg.
A single checked bag must not exceed 32 kg in weight or 203 cm in total
dimensions (length + width + height). Passengers should refer to the baggage
allowance shown on their ticket before travelling.
Extra Baggage
Passengers may
purchase additional baggage allowance before departure through Emirates. Prepaid
extra baggage is offered at lower rates than excess baggage purchased at the
airport.
Charges apply when checked baggage exceeds the permitted weight or
allowance. Sports equipment, musical instruments and other special baggage are
accepted in accordance with Emirates' baggage regulations, and additional fees
may apply depending on the item and route.
