Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque

The Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque was completed in the year of 1900.The
architecture of the mosque is a mix of two distinguishable styles. They are
Victorian and Moorish styles with a little influence of Malay style. It is said
that the minarets look like British watch towers.
Today, the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque is listed as a protected heritage monument by
the Department of Museums and Antiquities. Non - muslims are allowed to enter
the mosque. However, decent and modest clothing must be worn as a sign of
respect.
Besides, one must remove his/her shoes before entering the mosque. There are
some nearby attractions that are related to the history of Johor.
The Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque is located along a street name Jalan Skudai.
It is the state mosque of Johor, Malaysia. It is situated on a hill, with a bird
eye's view of the straits of Johor.
They are the Royal Abu Bakar Museum and the Sultan Abu Bakar Monument.

Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque located very near to the Royal Abu Bakar Museum
(The Grand Palace). You can reach the state mosque by a taxi from the city
centre of Johor Bahru with affordable fare. The fare costs roughly RM3 per ride.
