British Airways Baggage Policy
Passengers travelling with British Airways from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) may
bring the following cabin baggage:
All cabins: 1 cabin bag and 1 personal
item, such as a handbag, laptop bag or small backpack.
The cabin bag must
not exceed 56 cm × 45 cm × 25 cm, including handles and wheels. The personal
item must not exceed 40 cm × 30 cm × 15 cm.
The personal item must fit
under the seat in front, while the cabin bag must fit in the overhead
compartment. Passengers must be able to lift their cabin bag into the overhead
compartment without assistance.
Cabin baggage is subject to security
screening at KLIA. Items that exceed the permitted size or cannot be safely
stored in the cabin may be checked into the aircraft hold.
Checked Baggage Policy
Checked baggage allowance for British
Airways flights departing from KLIA is determined by the cabin and fare
purchased:
• Economy Basic: No checked baggage included.
• Economy: 1
piece up to 23 kg (51 lbs).
• Premium Economy: 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg (51
lbs).
• Business: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs).
• First: 3 pieces,
each up to 32 kg (70 lbs).
Each checked bag must not exceed 90 cm × 75 cm
× 43 cm in size, including handles and wheels. The maximum weight per bag is 32
kg.
Checked baggage exceeding the permitted number, weight or size is
subject to additional charges or may need to be transported as cargo.
Passengers should check the baggage allowance shown on their booking
confirmation before travelling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Extra Baggage
Additional checked baggage can be
purchased before departure through British Airways. Pre-purchased extra baggage
is priced lower than airport rates.
Excess baggage charges apply when the
number of bags, weight or size exceeds the permitted allowance.
Sports
equipment, musical instruments and special items are accepted in accordance with
British Airways’ baggage rules and may be subject to additional charges or
handling requirements.
