British Airways Lost and Found at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

If you have misplaced an item during your British Airways flight or within Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the appropriate reporting procedure depends on where the item was lost. Follow the sections below to report and recover your belongings.

Items Left on Board the Aircraft

Items left onboard British Airways aircraft should be reported to British Airways or its appointed ground handling agent at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Passengers are required to provide the flight number, travel date, seat number, and a detailed description of the missing item to support identification and recovery.

Items Lost at the Airport

Items lost within Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), including check-in areas, security screening points, immigration zones, departure lounges and arrival halls, are managed by the airport operator’s Lost and Found service. British Airways does not handle property lost in public areas of the airport.

Baggage-Related Lost Property

Passengers who are unable to locate their checked baggage upon arrival at KLIA must report the issue immediately at the baggage tracing or Lost & Found desk in the arrivals area before leaving the terminal. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is completed to initiate the baggage tracing process.

Reporting a Lost Item

When reporting an item lost onboard a British Airways flight, passengers must provide their flight details, travel date, seat number, and a clear description of the item. For delayed or missing checked baggage, the baggage tag receipt must be presented when filing the report.

Recovery and Collection

Recovered items may be collected in person at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after verification. Collection by a representative is permitted only with written authorisation from the passenger and valid identification documents.

Passenger Advice

Passengers are required to report missing checked baggage before leaving the arrivals area at KLIA, as baggage tracing begins only after a Property Irregularity Report has been officially filed.
