China Airlines Baggage Policy

Passengers travelling with China Airlines from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on China Airlines flights are allowed to bring the following cabin baggage:

• Economy Class and Premium Economy Class: 1 cabin bag up to 7 kg (15 lbs).
• Business Class: 2 cabin bags, each up to 7 kg (15 lbs).

Each cabin bag must not exceed 56 cm × 36 cm × 23 cm, including handles, wheels and side pockets. Cabin baggage must be placed in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of the passenger.

All carry-on baggage is subject to security screening at KLIA. Cabin baggage exceeding the permitted weight or size limits must be checked into the aircraft hold.

Checked Baggage Policy

Checked baggage allowance on China Airlines flights is based on the travel route, booking class and cabin class.

For flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA):

• Economy Class: 1 piece up to 23 kg (50 lbs) for Discount and Basic fares; 2 pieces, each up to 23 kg (50 lbs), for applicable Standard, Flex and eligible booking classes.
• Premium Economy Class: 2 pieces, each up to 28 kg (61 lbs).
• Business Class: 2 pieces, each up to 32 kg (70 lbs).

Each checked baggage piece must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions (length + width + height).

The maximum weight for any single checked baggage piece is 32 kg (70 lbs). Baggage exceeding this limit must be repacked or transported as cargo.

Passengers should confirm the baggage allowance shown on their ticket or booking confirmation before arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Extra Baggage

Passengers may purchase additional baggage allowance through China Airlines before departure. Additional baggage charges apply when the number of pieces, weight or dimensions exceed the permitted allowance.

The applicable fees depend on the travel route, cabin class and excess baggage requirements. Sports equipment, oversized baggage and special items may require advance arrangements and are subject to additional handling conditions and charges.
