China Airlines Lost and Found at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
If you have misplaced an item during your China Airlines flight or within Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the appropriate reporting procedure depends on where the item was lost. Follow the sections below to report and recover your belongings.
Items Left on Board the Aircraft
Passengers who leave personal belongings on a China Airlines aircraft arriving
at or departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) should contact
the China Airlines airport service team for assistance. To help locate the item,
passengers should provide their flight details, seat number, travel date and a
clear description of the lost property.
Items Lost at the Airport
Lost items found within KLIA facilities, including check-in counters,
security checkpoints, departure areas and arrival halls, are managed through the
airport’s Lost & Found service. Passengers should report any missing personal
belongings as soon as possible with relevant details such as the location, time
and description of the item.
Baggage-Related Lost Property
Passengers whose checked baggage does not arrive at the baggage claim area
should proceed to the China Airlines baggage service counter before exiting the
arrival hall. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will be issued to record the
case and allow baggage tracing to begin.
Reporting a Lost Item
A lost item report should include sufficient information for verification,
including the passenger’s flight number, date of travel, seat assignment and
item details. For delayed or missing checked baggage, passengers must provide
the baggage claim tag and relevant travel documents when making a report.
Recovery and Collection
Recovered items will be
returned according to KLIA and China Airlines collection procedures. Passengers
collecting their belongings must provide identification for verification. If
another person collects the item on the passenger’s behalf, written
authorisation and identification documents may be required.
Passenger Advice
Passengers are advised to report missing
checked baggage before leaving the KLIA arrival area. Early reporting allows
China Airlines to begin the baggage tracing process and provide follow-up
assistance.
