flydubai, FZ series flights at Penang International Airport (PIA)

flydubai is a government-owned low-cost airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Established in 2008, the airline operates from its hub at Dubai International Airport (DXB). flydubai serves more than 135 destinations across over 55 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Indian Subcontinent with a fleet of Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.

flydubai launched its first scheduled service to Malaysia in April 2010 with the introduction of flights between Dubai and Penang International Airport (PIA), making Penang the airline's first destination in Southeast Asia. The route is operated by Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and provides direct connectivity between Dubai and Penang.

The scheduled flight time between Dubai and Penang is approximately 6 hours 40 minutes. As of June 2026, flydubai operates the Dubai-Penang route twice weekly, providing travellers from Malaysia with direct access to Dubai and the airline's wider international network.
